Bury Leisure Centre Enhancements Consultation
Audience: Public, Bury Leisure Centre users, councillors, stakeholders
This consultation is now closed.
It was open from 22 August 2024 to 10 October 2024.
West Suffolk Council, and Abbeycroft, who manage the Bury Leisure Centre on their behalf, are seeking the thoughts and opinions of residents and stakeholders on the proposed enhancements to Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre.
The consultation is part of West Suffolk Council's strategic priority for Thriving Communities, which aims to ensure that residents have access to good quality sport and leisure facilities to support their health and wellbeing. The business case, brought before the full council on 16 July 2024, set out a proposed plan for addressing the significant maintenance work and delivering key improvements at the centre. The proposed enhancements to the leisure centre are designed to improve the facilities and services offered, making them better matched to the needs of the community.
Any investment will be on top of a £6.2m capital programme for maintenance at the centre, already agreed by the council.
Final proposals for improvements will be informed by the outcome of this survey and their affordability.
