Private sector landlord conference returns this autumn
02 Aug 2024
Safe Suffolk Renters will be holding another conference for private sector landlords in the county this October.
Following the success and positive feedback from their first landlord conference last year, Safe Suffolk Renters are keen to bring landlords together again to share the latest practical solutions from experts as well as listening to the concerns of property owners.
The Safe Suffolk Renters Landlord Conference, which is free to attend, will take place at the University of Suffolk on Wednesday 2 October. The keynote speaker will be Paul Shamplina, who has spent more than 30 years in the legal field helping landlords with problem tenants.
The speakers in the morning will be followed by afternoon workshops focused on the financial and legal implications of being a landlord as well as offering advice on affordable maintenance solutions. There will also be a range of exhibitors at the event that will be of interest to landlords, from member associations and financial advisors to insulation specialists and grants advisers.
Safe Suffolk Renters is a multi-faceted initiative operating across Suffolk, which consults widely with tenants, landlords, letting agents and stakeholders in the county. The work carried out is already leading to a better understanding of the pressures and problems in the sector and to aid improvements in standards particularly in the worst private rented homes in the area.
The Safe Suffolk Renters Landlord Conference is free for any landlord to attend, whether they manage a large portfolio or just one property. It takes place at the University of Suffolk’s Waterfront Building in Ipswich on Wednesday 2 October. The event begins at 9am. A free buffet lunch will be available to delegates at along with refreshments throughout the day. Afternoon workshops run from 2pm to 4pm.
Safe Suffolk Renters has been designed and implemented by all five Suffolk-wide authorities: West Suffolk Council, East Suffolk Council, Babergh District Council, Mid Suffolk District Council, and Ipswich Borough Council.
