West Suffolk’s successful makers markets return for autumn
30 Aug 2024
The successful makers markets will be returning this autumn across Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill and Newmarket.
The makers markets are a celebration of local entrepreneurship and creativity. Each market will feature a diverse lineup of vendors, ensuring there's something for everyone - whether shoppers are looking for a unique gift or a treat, or simply to enjoy a day out with the family.
The makers markets will see some familiar faces from the regular markets across West Suffolk, as well as some newer stalls, ensuring fan favourites as well as exciting fresh stalls are there.
Cllr Indy Wijenayaka, Cabinet Member for Growth at West Suffolk Council, said: ”Makers markets play a crucial role in our community as they offer a space where creativity flourishes, new skills are developed and local economies can thrive. These semi-regular markets offer entrepreneurs a place where they can develop their small business further, test products and network with likeminded individuals. Our monthly makers markets recognise the skills of those who trade as well as offer a fun experience for shoppers.”
At each markers market, shoppers will be able to discover an extensive variety of unique crafts and homemade products such as sweet treats, hot food, woodcraft, original artwork, homeware, needlecraft, candles and soap and much more!
The makers markets will take place across September at:
- Bury St Edmunds on the Sunday 1 September from 10am to 3pm
- Haverhill on Saturday 7 September from 9am to 3pm
- Newmarket on Saturday 14 September from 9am to 3pm
As well as across October at:
- Haverhill on 5 October at 9am to 3pm
- Bury St Edmunds on 6 October at 10am to 3pm
- Newmarket on 12 October 9am to 3pm
We will also be organising additional Christmas events in Brandon and Mildenhall this year. For more information, contact the Economic Development team: economic.development@westsuffolk.gov.uk.
