Bulky household waste collection

If you cannot recycle or donate bulky items such as your furniture or white goods (for example fridges or washing machines) then we can collect and dispose of them for a fee.

Items will only be collected from bin collection points. We cannot collect items from inside resident’s properties or gardens. The items need to be at the bin collection point by 6.30am on the day of collection. If you have an assisted bin collection, the collection place for any bulky items will be different, so please let us know when you make the booking.

Before booking a collection

Before you arrange for us to collect your bulky items, why not consider donating them to a charity or organisation where they can be re-used by someone in need? There are many charities that will welcome donations, we have listed a few below but there will be others that exist in your area:

In addition to the above the British Heart Foundation will arrange to collect items that have a resale value: book a British Heart Foundation collection use the reference 'West Suffolk' when booking a collection. Alternatively you can drop off items for resale to one of their local shops: Donate to your local charity shop.

If you have bulky waste that requires removal please ensure anyone who collects it is a registered waste carrier and that they can prove your waste will be disposed of at a licensed facility. See our SCRAP campaign for more information. Suffolk recycling centres are open but you are required to book online. Visit Suffolk Recycling Centres booking page.
