Community events
Holding an event in your community can be a great way to get local people together to celebrate, raise funds or just enjoy entertainment and each other’s company. If you are thinking of organising an event such as a fete, family fun day, live music concert or street party, there is a lot of good information and advice available to help you ensure your event is safe and well organised.
Health and safety
Almost every event goes off without a hitch, but it is vital that you plan ahead for emergencies and other considerations. Things to think about and plan for, for any event even if it is small, include (not an exhaustive list):
- Fire safety
- crowd management
- food safety
- any licences you might need
- traffic
- noise
- security
- first Aid
- lost children and vulnerable adults
- weather

Events licences
If you are intending to provide or sell alcohol, put on entertainment or close a road as part of your event, you will need a licence from us to be able to do so. Details of what these are and how to apply for them can be found through the links below:
